How to Prepare for Your First Appointment

2026-04-30 Your Body Solutions

First appointments at the studio are consultations. You are not committing to a treatment by booking one, and you won't be treated on the spot unless that's what you've agreed to. It's a conversation, and it works best when it's a two-way one.

Come knowing what you'd like to talk about. That sounds obvious, but people often arrive having thought about the outcome and not about the area — and the area is what we can actually look at and discuss. If there's a specific patch of skin, a specific brow shape, or a specific area you'd like treated, say so early.

Tell us what's going on with your skin, honestly. Recent sun exposure, anything you're using on the area, anything you've had done elsewhere, any reactions you've had before. None of this is a test, and none of it is to catch you out — it's what tells us whether a treatment is a fit and whether a patch test is needed first. Leaving something out because it seems minor is the most common reason a plan has to change later.

Ask the awkward questions. How will this feel? What does the area look like immediately afterwards? What can't I do that evening? Is this actually going to do what I want, or am I expecting the wrong thing from it? That last one is the most useful question anyone asks, and you'll get a straight answer to it.

Practically: allow a bit more time than you think, arrive with the area clean and free of makeup where you can, and if you're coming for something around the eyes, bring your glasses rather than wearing contacts if that's an option for you.
